Di Matteo considering Chelsea future

Chelsea assistant manager Roberto Di Matteo is on the brink of leaving Stamford Bridge. The Italian is growing increasingly frustrated at being ignored by manager Andre Villas-Boas and would rather be a manager at a club. He was sacked as number one at West Brom last season, before being appointed by Chelsea in the summer. However, crucially, he wasn't appointed by Villas-Boas, who rarely consults him on the touch-line on match days and has made him a peripheral figure at Chelsea's Cobham training ground. Rather, he was appointed by the Chelsea hierarchy, who thought a former Chelsea player - who is close to some players including John Terry - was needed to assist the young Portuguese.
